Straighter teeth are about more than looks: a well-aligned bite is easier to clean, wears more evenly and puts less strain on the jaw. At First Dental Center, orthodontic treatment for children, teens and adults is planned and supervised by a consultant orthodontist, with care available across our branches in Sheikh Zayed, New Giza, Zamalek and Maadi.

Who can benefit from orthodontics?

  • Crowded or overlapping teeth

  • Gaps between teeth

  • Overbite, underbite, crossbite or open bite

  • Teeth that have shifted after previous braces

  • Bite problems contributing to tooth wear or jaw discomfort

  • Preparing the mouth for veneers, implants or a full mouth reconstruction

Your treatment options

Metal braces

Strong, reliable and suitable for almost every case, including complex bite corrections. Modern brackets are smaller and more comfortable than in the past.

Ceramic (clear) braces

Tooth-coloured brackets that work like metal braces but are much less noticeable — a popular choice for teens and adults.

Clear aligners

A series of removable, nearly invisible trays that move teeth step by step. Aligners can be taken out to eat and brush, making them a good fit for many adults with mild to moderate crowding or spacing. Wondering how the brands compare? Read our guide Invisalign vs Clear Aligners in Egypt on our blog.

Orthodontics for children

An early orthodontic check around age 7 helps spot jaw-growth and bite problems while they are easiest to guide. Not every child needs early treatment, but an assessment gives you a clear plan. Our kids dentistry team makes visits relaxed and friendly.

Orthodontics for adults

It is never too late to straighten your teeth. Many of our patients start treatment in their 20s, 30s, 40s and beyond, often choosing clear aligners or ceramic braces for a discreet result.

What happens at your first visit

  1. An examination of your teeth, bite and jaw.

  2. Digital records — photos, scans and X-rays (including 3D imaging where needed).

  3. A discussion of the options that suit your case, the expected treatment time and the cost.

  4. A personalised treatment plan before anything begins.

After treatment: retainers

Teeth naturally try to move back. Wearing your retainer as advised is the key to keeping your new smile for life.

Frequently asked questions

How long does orthodontic treatment take?

It depends on the case. Simple corrections can take a few months, while more complex bite problems take longer. Your orthodontist will give you an estimate at your consultation.

Are braces or aligners better?

Both work well for the right case. Braces handle complex movements reliably, while aligners offer more comfort and discretion. Your orthodontist will recommend the option that will give you the best result.

Does it hurt?

You may feel pressure or mild soreness for a few days after starting treatment or after an adjustment. This usually settles quickly.
