At First Dental Center, Botox and dermal fillers are used for both dental and aesthetic reasons — to relax overworked jaw muscles, soften a gummy smile, and bring balance to the face around a new smile. Treatment is carried out by trained, licensed doctors at our branches in Sheikh Zayed, New Giza, Zamalek and Maadi.

Dental uses of Botox

  • Clenching and teeth grinding (bruxism): small doses in the masseter muscle can reduce the force of clenching, easing jaw pain, morning headaches and wear on teeth, veneers and crowns. It works best alongside a night guard — see our guide to teeth grinding and TMJ treatment.

  • Jaw muscle tension and TMD: for some patients with muscle-related jaw pain, Botox can be one part of a wider treatment plan after a proper examination.

  • Gummy smile: a tiny dose above the upper lip can reduce how much gum shows when you smile — a simple option before considering gum contouring.

  • Square jawline from enlarged masseters: relaxing the muscle can slim the lower face over time.

Aesthetic Botox

Botox can soften expression lines such as forehead lines, frown lines between the brows and crow's feet. The aim is a natural, rested look rather than a "frozen" face.

Dermal fillers

  • Lips: adding volume, shape or definition in proportion to your smile.

  • Smile lines (nasolabial folds) and marionette lines: softening the folds around the mouth.

  • Facial balance: chin, cheeks and jawline contouring to complement veneers, implants or a full mouth reconstruction.

How long do results last?

Results are temporary. Botox usually lasts a few months before the muscle activity gradually returns, and fillers typically last longer, depending on the product and the area treated. Your doctor will explain what to expect for your specific treatment.

Is it safe?

When performed by a trained doctor using approved products, Botox and fillers are well-established treatments. Possible side effects include temporary redness, swelling, bruising or tenderness at the injection points. Treatment is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding, and you should tell your doctor about any medical conditions and medications before treatment.

What happens at your appointment

  1. A consultation to discuss your goals and medical history.

  2. A facial and, where relevant, jaw and bite assessment.

  3. Treatment, which usually takes a short visit with little or no downtime.

  4. A follow-up review where needed.

Frequently asked questions

Why would a dental clinic offer Botox?

Dentists work with the muscles of the face and jaw every day. Botox is a recognised option for clenching, grinding and gummy smiles, and fillers can complete the look of a smile makeover.

Does it hurt?

Most patients feel only a brief pinch. Very fine needles are used and numbing cream can be applied if needed.

Can I combine Botox with veneers or orthodontics?

Yes. Many patients combine treatments as part of a smile design plan. Your doctor will advise on the best order.
